The evening will feature a heavy half-pound of meat art, deli inspired muzak, olive loaf jello shots, Hamms beer, ham salad, hairnets, pickle wraps, the ghost of OR, disposable gloves, American cheese, a low-end massage chair, merch for sale, Meat Smiles, Tinder Men Holding Fish, a celebrity appearance by a Mark Wahlberg cutout, mood lighting and all things ham, laughter and love. At 7 p.m. Della will give a book reading in the form of a Stand-Up Comedy TED Talk Microsoft PowerPoint. Wrap up the night by picking up your pre-ordered books at the merch table.
Ella’s Deli Diaries talk is both poignant and humorous, capturing adult, millennial life with a unique lens. From processed meats to love and companionship, Ella deftly relates to, and entertains, her audience- while pushing them to consider their own life choices.
She is an artist of, and for, her generation; while her approach is down to earth, there’s deeper wisdom embedded within the laughs. I think everyone would benefit from listening. Truly one of the most enjoyable, timely artist talks I’ve had the pleasure of attending.
